Emergency services raced to the A775 Edinburgh Road, near the junction for Biggar Road, at around 4.25pm on Monday but, sadly, the 37-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is understood that his blue Yamaha YZF R1 motorcycle was involved in a collision with a red Ford Focus car. The driver of the car, a 59-year-old man, was not injured.READ MORE: Child, 9, hit by car in Paisley left seriously injured as police swarm horror crash The road was closed for accident investigation work to be carried out before reopening at around 11.25pm.Sergeant Nick Twigg, Road Policing, said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died."Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone who can assist is asked to get in touch.
"If you were driving near the area at the time and have not already spoken to police, or have dash-cam that could assist then please make contact with officers." Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2476 of Monday, 16 September, 2024.
