The 'loophole' comes to light when you're applying for a new licence, but it's important to know when the rule is no longer valid.
Motorists have been clued in on a potential DVLA rule workaround that could keep them behind the wheel legally.
However, in order to do this, there are a few criteria that must be met. One of these is that you must fall under the medical fitness standards needed for driving, Birmingham Live reports. To take advantage of this provision, drivers need to have previously held a valid licence, and are only permitted to drive the categories of vehicles listed on their most recent application. The guidance further notes that your previous licence can't have been revoked or refused for medical reasons.
