Credit: Getty - ContributorThe RAC says filling a tank is at a record £103 forIts fuel spokesman, Simon Williams, said: “New records in the average price of petrol have been set every day for the last month, with a litre rising 21p, which has added more than £11 to a tank.”The invasion of Ukraine and moves to reduce dependence on Russian oil have driven prices.
But Luke Bosdet, of the AA, said the 1p rise on Tuesday was a surprise “given that wholesale costs have been level if not lower since the Jubilee”.But retailers are accused of not passing it on. Mr Williams said it is causing “increasing anger from drivers” and added: “There’s absolute frustration at the government’s apparent unwillingness to take action.”
