A father's home, riddled with mould and posing a serious health risk to his baby, highlights the failings of housing associations. The baby was diagnosed with RSV, a potentially fatal chest infection, after vomiting green bile. The father repeatedly requested a dehumidifier but was ignored until he bought one himself. The family was eventually moved to temporary accommodation over an hour away.

My council house always looks dirty despite endless scrubbing - it's all broken or hanging off hinges & I can't fix itRhys informed the housing association he had contacted his local MP George Freeman - and told them he wanted to move.Rhys’ torment was further compounded when he found his electricity bill was £627 in January, "because the dehumidifiers are there"."The wall around the mould goes a grey watercolour.
Rhys explained that he didn’t notice the mould initially due to the bottom sheet and mattress protector.“It went through a waterproof fabric, through the wood, the mattress and back onto the mattress topper. That mould was bigger than the size of our baby. It was scary."Rhys took his son to the doctor after the baby when his vomit turned green.a picture of the mould in his home and they said “that's why and he has developed RSV".
