Mount Vernon Cancer Centre could move to Watford General after its current location was judged “not fit for purpose”.
Proposals have been floated to move a cancer centre to Watford General Hospital after its current location was previously judged “not fit for purpose”.
Councillors were shown a report prepared by Jessamy Kinghorn, head of partnerships and engagement at NHS England. “In Hertfordshire, in any one day, there are around 20 patients at Watford Hospital who are admitted because of symptoms associated with their cancer treatment. Following concerns about sustainability, a review was established in 2019 over the future of Mount Vernon Cancer Centre which judged its current location “not fit for purpose”.
