Jose Mourinho has said the only team he's managed that he doesn’t have a connection with is Tottenham, the ‘Mr. Levy club’.
He was close to ending the team’s trophy drought since 2008 by taking them to a Carabao Cup final, but was sacked by chairmanless than a week before the showpiece at Wembley against Manchester City in 2021 - a match Spurs went on to lose with the inexperienced Ryan Mason as interim boss. “The reality is, and I hope the Tottenham fans don’t get me wrong, but the only club in my career where I don’t still have a deep feeling is Tottenham,” he explained.
