Hundreds of devout mourners gathered in Glasgow to pay their last respects at the funeral of Emeritus Archbishop Mario Conti.
The service at St Andrew’s Metropolitan Cathedral on Friday was filled with poignant tributes to the ‘"Christian gentlemen who enjoyed a long, rich and fruitful life".
“The more one knew him the more one realised that, despite appearances, he would not have been finally or fully happy as a renaissance priest or bishop. He had too much heart and too much humanity. “He touched so many lives over so many years and served with a sincere heart. It’s only natural to now say thanks for that devotion. He was 64 years a priest and 45 years of those as a bishop.”
