Friends have shared their devastation
More tributes have been paid to a Manchester couple who died whilst on a hiking holiday in Spain . Sarah Jane Thompson, 26, and her boyfriend Alexander Barrett, 32, were swept away by huge floods on Majorca earlier this month.
After news of the tragedy was shared by the Manchester Evening News yesterday , a flurry of further tributes have been posted online by those who knew them. Clair Healey said: "My heart is broken for all the family and friends. Alex was such a fun loving guy and will be missed by everyone. Thinking of you all.
On Instagram, one user said: "This is absolutely awful news. Saaz was the best. Sending love to you all." Whilst another said: "Heartbreaking. She was always so lovely and welcoming. Sending love to everyone." Whilst a third added: "This so devastating, what a beautiful girl xx" She was kind, joyful and would regularly make friends with people during her climbing sessions. We will miss them dearly, but even though they aren’t with us any more they will always be part of the Awesome Walls family."
