So what does that even mean?

If the vote on the Withdrawal Agreement is defeated tomorrow, the UK could crash out of the EU without a deal, Commons Leader Andrea Leadsom has suggested.

‘I think we can all agree that we don’t want to be in the situation of asking for another extension and facing the potential requirement of participating in European Parliament elections.’ The EU has told the prime minister she must secure Commons approval for her deal by 11pm on Friday if the UK is to be given an automatic Brexit delay to May 22.Friday’s debate is dependent on a business motion being moved and passed by the House later on Thursday. The Speaker also has to deem that the Government’s proposal is in line with parliamentary rules which ban the same motion being repeatedly tabled – and ultimately stops May from bringing her deal back.

She did not name a date for her departure from 10 Downing Street, but her announcement sets the stage for a likely Conservative leadership electionMrs May told Tory MPs that she ‘will not stand in the way’ of the party having new leadership for the second phase of Brexit negotiations – if her deal passes.
