BREAKING: MPs vote to reject Brexit ‘no-deal’ with just 16 days left to go
In another blow for the Prime Minister, MPs voted by 312 to 308 to stop a Brexit ‘no deal’ in any circumstance.
It is a much tougher stance than the one proposed by the Government, which did not actually rule out ‘no deal’, but instead said it remained the ‘default option’.It follows the Prime Minister’s withdrawal agreement suffering the second thumping defeat in the Commons yesterday. But the EU’s chief negotiator Michel Barnier said approving her deal is still the only way to prevent a no deal.‘That is the question we need a clear answer to now. That is the question that has to be answered before a decision on a possible further extension.‘Why would we extend these discussions? The discussion on Article 50 is done and dusted. We have the Withdrawal Agreement. It is there.
