Mr. & Mrs. Smith showrunner Francesca Sloane is speaking out about recent reports claiming that Donald Glover and Maya Erskine may not be returning for another season of the Prime Video Spy dramedy.

Maya and Donald may be dead; they may not be dead … there will be an answer as to what happened at the end of season 1 in season 2,” Sloane added.As the showrunner said, the first season of the spy series ended with a cliffhanger, leaving audiences with questions as to whether or not John and Jane Smith survive the gunfire at the end of Season 1. But according to her, there will be an answer once Season 2 hits the streamer.
The series is a reimagined story told in the same universe as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s 2005 movie of the same name. It follows two strangers as they both land a job at a spy agency that promises to provide them with a luxurious life.
