Justin Fletcher, aka Mr Tumble, is stepping back from his iconic show 'Something Special' after 22 years. Three new presenters will help lead the show while Fletcher takes a break.
A CBeebies legend is set to bid farewell to the beloved children's channel. The channel, known for its iconic bedtime story segment and a host of A-listers, has recently seen some changes in its line-up. However, concerns have been raised over the genre of shows being aired, with some being pulled off air for being too 'scary' for the young audience. Now, fan favourite Justin Fletcher, also known as Mr Tumble , has announced his departure from his much-loved show Something Special.
After 22 years on the job, Justin's role will be temporarily filled by others. Something Special, which first aired in 2003, has had numerous successful series, including five special episodes. The show is designed to help children with communication difficulties, incorporating signing, speech and symbols in the Makaton language. Throughout the show's run, Justin, along with his alter ego Mr Tumble, has been at the forefront. Now, three new faces - Maddie Moate, George Webster and Ben Cajee - will step in to assist as Justin takes a well-deserved break from his long-standing show, reports the Daily Star. Maddie Moate, the BAFTA-winning presenter, took to social media to announce her involvement in the latest series of 'Something Special', alongside the beloved Mr Tumble and Justin Fletcher. In her heartfelt post on Monday (January 6), she expressed her excitement: 'Last year I was lucky to be part of something special... THE 'Something Special', now in its 14th series, starring the much loved Mr Tumble and Justin Fletcher! ' She went on to explain the show's aim: 'For anyone who's unfamiliar with the show, Something Special is a children's TV programme that uses Makaton signs, speech and symbols to help children learn how to communicate and develop their language skills in a fun and exciting way.' Maddie also revealed the addition of some Cbeebies favourites to the new series, making it an even more 'happy, welcoming place'
