Well-loved BBC journalist David Capper has died at the age of 91. The former BBC Ireland Correspondent was a household name, recognised for his dedication to covering the Troubles, including reporting on the heartbreaking events of Bloody Sunday and Bloody Friday.

"Many senior figures in local journalism also have David to thank for passing on his considerable skillset to junior reporters starting out in the industry. Our deepest condolences go to David's family circle." Later, after a stint working in Vancouver, he came back to Northern Ireland to edit a local paper and then joined the Belfast Telegraph reporting team. He later moved onto the BBC team in Buenos Aires during the Falklands War, reports the Mirror.
