Mueller report 'does not exonerate' Trump of obstruction of justice
However, the report also does not exonerate the president of obstruction of justice - leaving the door open for potential impeachment.
According to the chairman of the US House judiciary committee, Jerry Nadler, the report"is putting matters squarely in Congress' court". Special counsel Robert Mueller has spent almost two years examining Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. His investigation has not found that the Trump campaign or its associated"conspired or coordinated" with Russia, according to a letter sent to Congress which summarises the findings.
The letter by the US Attorney General, William Barr, advises Congress of the"principal conclusions" of the investigation.
