A busy main road in Liverpool has been closed following a two-vehicle crash this morning.
A busy main road has been closed by police following a crash this morning. Muirhead Avenue East has been cordoned off by Merseyside Police at the junction with Almond's Green and Lorenzo Drive in Norris Green following the incident involving two vehicles. A force incident manager at Merseyside Police told the ECHO that officers were at the scene at around 9.45am today, Saturday, January 4 following reports of the incident.
The senior police officer said there have been no serious injuries reported following the crash. He added that the road has been closed 'to allow for the vehicles to be removed'. Drivers in the area who are going towards Croxteth are currently unable to drive down Muirhead Avenue East and are instead having to divert down Almond's Green and Lorenzo Drive. An eyewitness said there were 'plenty of blue lights' but could not get closer. The ECHO understands the incident to have happened closer to a number of shops where Muirhead Avenue East meets Broad Lane and Parkside Drive
