Mum anger after school changes uniform to 'expensive branded jumpers'

A mum has blasted her local primary school after they altered their uniform policy to make branded jumpers compulsory for students.

The school has introduced a number of measures to help parents but Marie says this isn’t enough

Marie Hodgson who has two children at Linthorpe Community Primary School, in Middlesborough, claims the new uniform policy is putting extra pressure on families during theUnder the new rules, children must wear school-branded jumpers and PE tops which are only available to buy from a single supplier.

To ease the financial burden on parents, the primary school has given each child one free jumper and one PE top, subsidised the price of the new items for an introductory period, and introduced a payment plan. ‘It will have an impact on my finances, and then next year they will take the support away,’ Marie said.Marie Hodgson says the new branded uniform is adding an unnecessary financial burden to parents
