Jemma McGowan passed away aged just 29 surrounded by her family
Thousands of tributes have been shared following the death of an inspirational mum who passed away from a rare form of ovarian cancer.The mum-of-three made headlines after raising more than £150,000 to fund cancer treatment in Mexico having been given just six months to live in 2021.She had been diagnosed with cancer for the second time shortly after the birth of her youngest daughter Sadie, Belfast Live reports.
Jemma fromOmagh in Northern Irelanddetailed her cancer journey online, gaining thousands of followers with her honest approach to living with the terminal condition. She also fundraised for local charities who had helped her during the course of her illness. Thousands of people commented on a death notice for Jemma online on Thursday, with many describing her as an 'inspiration' and a 'fighter'.
A book of condolences for Jemma has been set up, with those who knew her encouraged to leave a memory for her children - Sadie, Louis, and Betty and husband Clive - to read in the future."Please take the time to share your condolences/ memories of Jemma, in the condolence book below, which will be safely kept for Jemma's children to read in the future," a funeral notice said.
"These messages will help Sadie, Louis and Betty to remember just how special Jemma was to everyone."
