Mum gave birth in hospital toilets before abandoning newborn for 10 hours
A MUM went missing for 10 hours after giving birth in a hospital toilet and abandoning the newborn - sparking a desperate hunt to trace her.Google Street ViewMedics are today caring for the healthy child who was reunited with his mum in the early hours of this morning, police said.
A statement from Thames Valley Police released ten hours after the birth said: "We would like to thank the public for their assistance in tracing a mother who gave birth in the John Radcliffe Hospital yesterday evening and then went missing."Her baby boy is also doing well and is being cared for by medical staff at this time."The hospital had earlier said it was "very concerned" about the mother's health following her sudden disappearance.
Sam Foster, chief nurse of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I am appealing directly to the baby’s mother to please come forward to seek medical attention."Ms Foster added: “Child birth is a very emotional process, from a physical perspective you will need our medical and midwifery team to check that there are no complications from you giving birth.
