Jessica Kitching dragged a woman to the ground and kicked her in the face outside a school after their daughters had a minor argument. She was sentenced to 30 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months.
A young mother in England was recently sentenced to prison for assaulting another mother outside a school. Jessica Kitching, 25, attacked the woman after a minor argument between their daughters during the school holidays. The incident occurred on September 21, 2023, when Kitching followed the other mother out of the school playground and physically assaulted her.
Kitching dragged the woman to the ground, knelt on her chest, and repeatedly kicked her in the face while the victim pleaded for her to stop. Another person intervened, pulling Kitching off the victim. As she walked away, Kitching threatened to kill the other woman, stating that she knew where she lived. The victim sustained facial injuries, including grazes, bruises, and a suspected hairline nose fracture. She also expressed fear that Kitching would attack her at her home. In a victim impact statement, the woman revealed that she felt embarrassed and humiliated by the attack, which took place in front of other parents and children. She considered changing her daughter's school but ultimately decided against it. Kitching pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and expressed remorse for her actions to a probation officer. She claimed she couldn't explain why she lost her temper and initiated the attack. The court considered the severity of the offense and the fact that it occurred near a school in the presence of children, ultimately sentencing Kitching to 30 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months. She was also ordered to complete 15 days of rehabilitation activities and 60 hours of unpaid work in the community. This case highlights the serious consequences of violence and threats, especially in public spaces involving children.
