'That totally avoidable accident has ruined my life and my kid’s lives'
The mum of a schoolboy who died after falling through a manhole has spoken of her pain over losing her 10-year-old son.
We previously reported how the youngster was able to enter a construction site through an insecure fence before sitting beside the open cover situated 60 metres from the park.
It led to Shea being able to access the building site and climb down the ladder in the manhole before he slipped and plunged 6.3 metres to his death. “My son is not here and that destroys me every day. That totally avoidable accident has ruined my life and my kid’s lives – I don’t even feel human anymore at times because of the grief.
