Mum-of-two Leah Lazarus, 39, has shared her regret about getting a gastric sleeve, where she dropped five stone
A Londoner who spent thousands of pounds on weight loss surgery, dropping six dress sizes, has revealed she wished she never went through with it. Leah Lazarus, 39, from Loughton in Essex, used her savings to pay for a gastric sleeve procedure, but has been left feeling “like a child” with her small frame.
"I felt confident in the private hospital I chose but as soon as I woke up from surgery, I knew something was wrong because I was in unbearable pain. After the surgery, I spoke to a medic once and never heard from them again. However, once she woke up, Leah experienced a huge amount of pain and struggled to keep food and water down. She was discharged from hospital just 24 hours later.
After two weeks under observation, she returned home but her condition continued to get worse and left her struggling to walk. Leah was then in and out of Homerton University Hospital, Hackney, London, for two months between June to August 2022, claiming medics believed she had a stomach rupture.
