However, Abbie says these issues pale in comparison to the impact caused by the spread of damp and mould in the "freezing" flat. "It got to the point where we had to chuck out all the furniture in my bedroom because it was riddled in thick black mould," she said. "I'm going through about £50, £60 in gas a week to try and keep the flat warm but I can't afford to keep doing that. I'm having to put the heating on for an hour, two hours to stay warm but then in 20 minutes it's freezing cold again."It makes me angry, I feel like I'm in a catch-22, I don't feel like that flat is my home.
