Mum's fury after broken council lift leaves disabled son trapped in his flat for two weeks
Julia Boyd, 71, was unable to visit her son for almost two weeks due to a broken liftHer son, Samuel Payne, 39, has cerebral palsy - a condition that affects muscle control, movement and coordinationIt meant the mum - who has a broken hip - was forced to communicate with her wheelchair-bound son via video calls from her living room, while a neighbour visited him three times a day to take him his meals and medication.
Instead, Samuel was left alone upstairs on the special day as the mum-of-two could not physically get up the stairs to see him due to her hip. Speaking on Wednesday, the mother also fumed about he sons ruined birthday as she told local reporters "I can't believe it."
