Stephen Beaumont was described as a 'loving' dad who did 'everything' for his children
A 'devoted' dad-of-two died after his childhood pal collided with him in a horror bike crash, an inquest has heard.
"He learned to ride a bike in his twenties, which surprised us as it had never interested him before," she said, adding that she thought his interest had been sparked by Mr Southworth's enthusiasm for bikes. The inquest heard conditions were 'cold' but 'bright' on the morning of the crash. Mr Southworth said he met Peter and Stephen at their Urmston home where the trio checked their bikes before setting off. As they turned into Church Road, Peter, who had been at the rear of the three, sped up to an estimated 55 mph and overtook Stephen and Mr Southworth, the court heard.
He added that scrape marks from the road suggested Mr Southworth could have been travelling between 45-56mph at the time of the collision. Marks from Stephen's Yamaha MT-07 ABS suggested he was driving at around 32-39mph.
