The mum-of-four said she thought she was going to die in the incident
A Nottingham mother-of-four “thought she was going to die” at the hands of her knife-wielding former partner as he pinned her to the bed. Nottingham Crown Court heard how the victim’s teenage sons tried to get Christopher McLeavey off their mother as he attacked her in her own bedroom.
“But she is not vindictive because she indicates this was out of character and she wants you to get the help she needs. You took a long, nasty, dangerous knife to her home address and there, you assaulted your former partner. But on February 17, this year, he found out their daughter had her ears pierced without his knowledge and this angered him, the prosecutor said. Mr Austin said: “At around 1am on February 18, he asked to speak to her and came to her address.
The prosecutor said they struggled on the bed and she called out for help. He said her two teenage sons came into the room and tried to get him off by punching him and the police were called who turned up and arrested him. The victim suffered pain to her ribs and a small cut to her finger from the knife.
