This was precisely the case for TikTok user @itsmamnotmum, who shared her distressing experience while vacationing in Antalya, Turkey. In a video recounting the event, she alleged: "A stranger came into our room last night. We are on holiday in Turkey and, at 10.30pm last night we were all sound asleep, and someone came into our room.
"Now, they did knock once, and they let themselves in straight away, without even waiting for someone to open the door. Holding a bottle of water, standing there." Reflecting on the incident, she expressed uncertainty about whether she was "overreacting", or if others would have felt similarly. Ultimately, feeling so uneasy, she took the precaution of wedging the pram against the door to stop anyone from entering.
