She told how she was struck down with extreme pain and collapsed outside her home
A mum who suffered a severe brain injury has shared how her life has changed since the incident. In March this year, Corrine Walters, suffered an aneurysm while at home and has since had to take early retirement from her job for her own health and safety.
The former certified balloon artist is now raising money to place a bench in Erewash in memory of Queen Elizabeth II, as she isn’t sure if it’s the last thing she will be able to contribute to the borough as a second aneurysm in her brain could burst at any moment and put her life in grave danger.Speaking on her injury, Corrine said: “I believe it was March 3, but I have lost a lot of my memory, I was in the kitchen. Basically I had a bad headache suddenly.
“Obviously an ambulance was called but when they realised how serious it was an air ambulance was called and it turned out to be a brain aneurysm which is a serious bleed on the brain.Corrine had brain surgery, where the doctors coiled one of the brain aneurysms off, but she has a second one which is too deep in her brain to operate on as doctors fear an operation would kill her. She still has the second aneurysm and has had to learn to live with it.
“I just have to be careful but I just want to carry on the best I can. I don't know how much time I have left, I really don’t. But the time I do have, I’m trying to do something useful. I’m trying to leave something behind, it could be the last thing I do for the community."
