Concerned neighbours filmed the incident

Victoria Doyle, 39, from Speke, said her son, Jason, 19, was out walking on Friday morning, March 22, when a seemingly minor incident rapidly escalated into something more serious. She says her son was injured during the arrest, which is now being looked into by the police's professional standards department.

The mum-of-two, who was on the phone to Jason at the time, then heard a police officer telling him to put the phone down. When the teenager refused, the officer allegedly swore at Jason. Speaking to the ECHO, Victoria said: "Jason was crying in the car, and the police stopped me from talking to him. But he was moving his head to show me his injuries."

She said: "I went around knocking on doors to find out what happened - asking people for video and CCTV footage." She claims that Jason "whacked his head on the kerb" as he was brought to the ground during his arrest. Victoria said he was taken from the police station to Whiston Hospital, where he remained until 10.30pm on Friday evening.
