A woman from Long Eaton who was left ‘disheartened’ as she battled with her weight, now has a ‘newfound confidence’. Daniella ‘Ella’ Mclaughin found herself stuck in a battle with weight loss after having two children.
It was after giving birth to her daughter that she gained around three to four stone. “I just got fed up of not being able to fit in anything again, going to the shops I never knew what size I was because I always felt horrible in everything,” Ella said. “I’m me again now, I had my children, and you kind of lose a bit of it again because you put everything into your kids and I love them dearly.”
“It's just the thing, my kids, especially, I want to be here for them. At least I know if anything did happen to me, I did all I could to look after myself and it wasn’t something I had done to myself. With obesity as it is these days, longevity definitely more than anything.” “I’ve always classed myself as not active after starting that this year I thought, no I am . Now, I’m somehow training for a marathon next April.”
“But going there every week, there are other people who are in the same boat, hints tips, support. You come out of there thinking ‘this week I can do this, or this week I can do that’, it just keeps you on track.
