A mum from North West England wins a court case after refusing to pay a parking fine for two years. She was vindicated after the judge ruled in her favor and ordered the parking firm to pay her travel expenses.
A North West mum who refused to pay a parking fine for two YEARS and was 'called a liar' says she feels vindicated after she was taken to court - and won.
"I was annoyed because it was not my fault. It was their machine. How can they say I have not paid? I put it all through! I did everything I was supposed to do. I did everything correctly. 'I find this totally unacceptable' The incident happened when Jamie parked near a hospital in Liverpool in September 2021 for a personal medical appointment, but found the machine was broken. She instead bought a ticket over the phone and received a "parking accepted for two hours" text message.
A week later, she started getting letters demanding she pay a £60 parking fine. She wrote back explaining that payment had been "validated" but was unaware she had to fill in her number plate because she was in the middle of an appointment when she received the text.
