The Muntinlupa City government is aiming to establish a new national high school to serve more students.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon signed on Nov. 15 Resolution No. 2022-132 approved by the Muntinlupa City Council requesting Rep. Jaime Fresnedi “to sponsor a bill in Congress creating a new national high school in Sucat, Muntinlupa City.”The creation of new schools needs a resolution from the city or municipal council and it should follow criteria set by the Department of Education. It will be evaluated by education committees before it is approved by the regional director.
“Muntinlupa City has a population growth rate of 1.58% based on the 2020 census of Philippine Statistics Authority and composed mainly of citizens who are qualified for secondary education, hence, a need to establish more schools to decongest existing schools thereby upgrade the quality of learning and instruction in our city,” according to the resolution.
