South Australian police are investigating the death of a 17-month-old child, saying the incident is being treated as a murder investigation.
Police said the child, called Ronan, was left with injuries that were "not survivable" after he was allegedly assaulted on the afternoon Wednesday, June 7.Ronan, who police say was in the care of friends at the time, died two days later in the Women's and Children's Hospital.
Police have said that on the day of the alleged assault, the boy was in the care of friends "who are known to his parents" at an address on Ferguson Street at Glenelg North. When he was returned to his father's Ottaway home at 4pm that afternoon, he was "unable to be roused", police said.More to come.
