The victim was attacked by three men in a Wetherspoons pub after the Euro 2024 match
A murder investigation has been launched after a man died after being brutally attacked inside a pub after England's 1-1 draw with Denmark on Thursday.
The assault was carried out by three men inside The Dolphin and Anchor Wetherspoon in Chichester, according to Sussex Police. Emergency services and performed CPR on the victim on the street outside, but he was declared dead at the scene.His next of kin have been informed, reports the Mirror. Two men have been arrested by the police in connection with the incident.
A third man, also suspected of affray, has been identified but remains at large, with officers actively searching for him. Detective Chief Inspector Suzanne Joseph, from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, commented on the incident: "This incident led to the tragic death of a 57-year-old man, and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time. It happened in a busy pub in the city centre, and we're urging anyone with information to come forward as we seek to establish the exact circumstances.
