The April 20 event will include a Q&A with the film's director and several San Diego rock-music mainstays, followed by a concert by The Farmers that will likely include such Nixon classics as 'Elvis is Everywhere' and 'Are You Drinking With Me...
Former San Diego roots-rock mainstay Mojo Nixon, whose high-octane songs and crazed antics earned him a national following, will be posthumously honored with a free April 20 screening of the 2022 documentary 'The Mojo Manifesto: The Life and Times of Mojo Nixon.
'I acquired a lot of archival footage and spent most of 2018 and 2019 editing the film. A major theme of the movie is creating your own reality, deciding who you're going to be and then doing that, which is exactly what Mojo did.' The screening and Q&A will be followed by a memorial gathering in Nixon's honor at 5 p.m. at Hooley's Public House at Grossmont Center in La Mesa.
