Wimbledon quarter-finalist would trade her family's £5.1bn fortune for the trophy
However, while others have inevitably made her career about money, Pegula is only interested in one thing.
Ahead of her quarter-final against Marketa Vondrousova on Centre Court, the American was asked if the 'world's richest tennis player' moniker bothers her, and whether she would trade her family's fortune for a Wimbledon title. Pegula responded: "People say that. I personally don't have that money. It's probably my dad or my parents. I don't know why that kind of stuck."It is what it is… It doesn't really bother me. It would be nice if people didn't say that. But do I really care? Not really. I don't really think it matters how much money you have.
