“The colposcopy nurse had a look and said everything looked fine and that I could remain on my three-yearly smear test recalls,” recalled Lauren. “I now know [the colposcopy nurse] did make the right call, [but] if she had known that my initial smear test was actually high abnormal cells, she would have taken a biopsy which could have seen that things were progressing.Three years later, Lauren discovered she had grade two cervical cancer – she was 29 years old.
