A woman ditched her fashion industry career for a unique business of her own
A woman channelled her success in the corporate world to help women 'find their armour.' Hilary James, 47, originally from Stoke-on-Trent but now living in Bromborough, was previously a marketing director for Forever Unique and In The Style brands. Hilary enjoyed a lengthy career at the top of the industry working with the biggest retailers in the world. She watched women dominate their field through fashion while noticing others feeling insecure in the way they dressed.
I found this place in Neston and I've been here ever since. I can't believe it happened so fast but I looked around, liked it, signed the contract and began opening the business.' Hilary joined forces with her best friend, Sue Byrne, who is also a co-owner, to refurbish a small unit into the shop of their dreams. In April 2023, the bright, bold and welcoming store we know today as Wardrobe at the Cross swung open it's doors and invited women to discover the armour they deserve.
