The fiercely-protective mother and her unborn child killed by a boy racer 'trying to be a big man' - and the family furious at his 'insulting' sentence
Frankie Hough was a fiercely-protective mother. She would protect her boys - nine-year-old Tommy and two-year-old Rocky - 'with everything she had'.
They spent weeks in intensive care, before being moved to the rehabilitation ward and then finally, being able to go home. Frankie's loved ones said she was 'shining down on them' while they were in hospital. "I adored her. I feel so lost right now." Frankie also starred in Merseybeat, Heartbeat, Where the Heart Is and Wire in the Blood.
Iqbal, from Accrington, Lancashire, was today jailed for 12 years. He pleaded guilty to causing Frankie's death by dangerous driving. “So this boy could try and make himself feel like a big man?” He added: “I am left full of guilt because I haven’t managed to keep her beautiful children together, and all because a young man wanted to show off, wanted to show his friends on social media how daring and cool he thought he was.”
"It is important to emphasise that dangerous driving is not a game. It has real and devastating consequences, and we must collectively work towards creating a society that values responsible driving and prioritises the safety of all road users. We urge everyone to reflect upon this tragic incident, which should serve as a wake-up call for humanity."
