Myleene Klass has been honored with a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) gong in the New Year Honours. The talented musician, TV presenter and businesswoman, who champions women's health and acts as an ambassador for Tommy’s, is recognized for her contributions to improving awareness of miscarriage as well as charitable efforts. Also recognized on the list are TV stars Sarah Lancashire, Anne-Marie Duff and Alan Titchmarsh.
The former Hear’Say star turned mum-of-three, whose personal struggles include four miscarriages, has bravely shared her experiences to shine a light on the emotional impact of baby loss on women. Speaking to PA news agency, Myleene expressed her joy: 'Because when I think back to how all of this started, it all came from a very dark place, and I certainly didn’t have it in mind to become a campaigner at the time.' Her activism for women's health includes a four-year mission advocating for changes in government policy related to miscarriage care, contributing to enhancements in the Women’s Health Strategy. Myleene's relentless support influenced Parliament to adopt a new approach, ensuring that women won't have to endure multiple miscarriages before they receive medical assistance. After her powerful advocacy, last year saw the Department of Health and Social Care unveil a raft of new measures aimed at enhancing the health and wellbeing of women and girls, which includes a pioneering pilot programme ensuring medical support for women following each miscarriage. Myleene Klass took her personal campaign to the screen with her Bafta-nominated heart-rending documentary 'Myleene Klass: Miscarriage And Me' in 2021, where she connected with women across the country to listen to their soul-stirring stories.
