The Environment Agency is investigating the mysterious incident
Part of the River Frome in Somerset has turned bright blue after it was polluted with an unknown substance.
after it was alerted by a member of the public on Thursday.A spokesman for the agency said tests have been carried out on the fluorescent water and the results should be known tomorrow. There have been no reports of dead or distressed wildlife or fish at this stage, the spokesman added.A field team from the Environment Agency is on stand-by in case any other similar incidents are reported.Its name comes from the Welsh ffraw, meaning fair, fine or brisk and is said to describe the flow of the river.
