Police say they found a firearm the suspect used, which turned out to be a pellet gun.
An armed home invasion ultimately failed when a Bergen County family’s screams sent the gunman fleeing into a wooded area, where police found him a short time later, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office announced.
The suspect, Jisun Park, 40, of Carrolton, Texas, is charged with armed robbery, armed burglary, aggravated assault and firearm charges for the 12:20 p.m. Saturday crime in Norwood, the prosecutor’s office said in a statement. Park approached the family - two adults and their children - in the garage of their home on Impatiens Way while wearing a mask and holding a handgun. He then announced a robbery and made threats, the office alleged. The victims’ screams sent Park running.
A 911 call led Norwood police to the home, where they learned of the robber’s flight. Officers searched the area with other police departments and found Park and arrested him without incident, the office said. Officers also found items they suspect Park used in the crime, including the weapon, which turned out to be a pellet gun manufactured to resemble a Glock handgun, the office said.Ex-town admin says she was sexually harassed.
