Heat waves, on average, kill more people in the U.S. than any other severe weather like tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and lightning, AccuWeather.com said.
A heat wave — three straight day of temperatures reaching 90 degrees or more — is expected to descend on New Jersey this week.with high temperatures reaching the 90s from Tuesday through Saturday, with the potential for 100-degree heat in the later part of the week.
Friday and Saturday will be the hottest days of the week with temperatures near 100 degrees in interior sections of the state. Heat waves, on average, kill more people in the U.S. than any other severe weather like tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and lightning, Highs on Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to climb into the low-to-mid 90 with a heat index — how warm it feels due to warm temperatures and humidity — in the upper 90s to about 100.The remainder of the week will be even hotter.
