|Temperatures will be below average on a weekend where we might not see any sunshine, the National Weather Service said.The first weekend of May won’t be a particularly good one weather-wise in New Jersey with forecasters calling for cooler than normal temperatures and chances of rain both Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday is expected to be the drier of the two days as forecasters say we can expect cloudy skies with temperatures ranging from the upper 50s along the Jersey Shore to the low 60s inland.“Best chance to see showers will be west of the Interstate 95 corridor, but can’t rule out some light rain across the area,” the weather service said in its Friday morning forecast discussion.Rain chances increase on Saturday night and into Sunday.
Sunday will be another day with temps as about 10 degrees below average for early May with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. Normal highs this time of year are close to 70. “Not the best weekend ahead weather-wise, but not necessarily terrible either,” the weather service said.Friday will likely be the only day we see some sun of the next three, the National Weather Service said. Temperatures will top out only in the 50s along the Jersey Shore and reach the 60s inland.
We’ll make it back into the 70s on Monday and Tuesday, but forecasters say unsettled conditions will continue with cloudy skies and a 20 to 40% chance of rain on both days.
