Nadine Coyle announces Girls Aloud are planning 'special night' in honour of Sarah
It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 20 years since Girls Aloud formed on TV talent contest Popstars: The Rivals. As we catch up with Nadine Coyle, she can't believe what a busy two decades it's been.
"We want to raise money for a piece of medical equipment that helps diagnose cancer earlier so people can be treated. We definitely want to do something to help others." She tells us they’re also hoping to reunite away from the stage, now that the majority of them are mums. Nadine shares Anaiya with her ex-fiancé, former American footballer Jason Bell. The pair, who split in 2019 after 11 years together, previously told OK! they had moved back in together to co-parent, after Covid travel restrictions meant it would be difficult to move between Nadine’s home in Northern Ireland and Jason’s base in California.
"It was only when she got older that she started asking, ‘Mummy, what exactly is it that you do?’ After that, I took her to a festival I was playing at and I brought her up on the stage – she probably realised then.""She loves dancing and singing!" Nadine confirms. "She’s also obsessed with TV shows like Dancing On Ice and Strictly Come Dancing, so I know when she’s older she’d love to give them a go.
Before having her daughter, Nadine had been performing internationally with the Lord Of The Dance: Dangerous Games tour as the goddess Erin. Reminiscing about her time on the theatre stage, she recalls, "I adored that job. The team went travelling all over the world for it, but then I got pregnant so I stopped.

"I’m considering a project at the moment," she reveals. "I don’t think I can say anything about it just yet – but it’ll definitely be on the more serious side of television.
"The world went quiet – almost in reflection – so it didn’t feel appropriate to bring out anything new while people were struggling and trying to survive."
