Naga Munchetty had ‘robust’ conversations with heads at the BBC over comments she made about President Donald Trump

The 45-year-old was found to have breached BBC guidelines when she slammed Mr Trump urging four female Democrats – Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib – to ‘go back’ to their own countries.

On July 17 2019, Naga said: ‘Every time I have been told, as a woman of colour, to go back to where I came from, that was embedded in racism.’The BBC later overturned their decision and Naga recieved an outpouring of support from Dan Walker, who personally wrote to the BBC defending his co-star, and Piers Morgan who called the ruling ‘sinister’.
