The number of international passengers in April was the highest volume recorded at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport since the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Manila International Airport Authority.

From over 600,000 international travelers logged last April 2022, the number more than doubled in 2023 with 1,677,770 passengers. “After more than two years of closed borders, we expect the momentum of recovery to continue for tourism and the aviation industry," MIAA officer-in-charge Bryan Co said Friday in a statement.

Co added that for the first 10 days of April 2023, NAIA logged 1,178,461 international and domestic passengers. MIAA also noted that from 2,447,795 domestic passengers in April 2022, the number of travelers increased by 50% with 3,666,503 travelers in April this year.
