Akopyan explains that Inoue’s popularity at home has made fighting abroad less appealing to the 31-year-old, calling him a “cash cow” in Japan. “He’s such a revenue generator in Japan,” Akopyan told CNN. “He’s not also inclined to come to the United States because of the fact that he makes so much more money in Japan, he’s a beloved hero.
