Napoli are looking at Alejandro Garnacho as a potential replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is set to leave the club this month.
Napoli have reportedly identified Alejandro Garnacho as a potential replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Antonio Conte confirmed on Saturday that Kvaratskhelia had made it clear he wants to leave the club this month. 'He asked the club to be sold, without mincing his words,' Conte said. 'This is what was said to me, the player has confirmed his decision to me.
'Personally I feel very disappointed, because I spent six months trying to make Kvara feel at the centre of the project, working with him, showing him that we could do something great and also working with the club for six months on the renewal. From my point of view, it’s a great disappointment.'The winger is set to depart the Serie A side, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly pushing for his signature. Kvaratskhelia had been linked with Manchester United but the club needs to sell players before bringing in new reinforcements. Napoli meanwhile, have already started working behind the scenes to sign Kvaratskhelia's successor. Sport Italia claims Garnacho has been recommended by Conte and sporting director Giovanni Manna is expected to 'open contacts' with Manchester United. It's said that Manchester United have already set their asking price of €50million (£42m). Garnacho has seen his opportunities limited under new manager Ruben Amorim despite previously becoming undroppable with his performances on the flanks under former manager Erik ten Hag. Alongside Marcus Rashford, Garnacho was left out of Amorim's travelling squad for the Manchester Derby. The Manchester Evening News reported earlier this week that the club had revoked the 'untouchable' status afforded to Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Rasmus Hojlund and Andre Onana in the summer. This means the club would be open to offers this month as they try to comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) concerns.However, the Daily Mirror suggests the Argentinian winger will likely stay at Old Trafford at least until the end of the season
