NASA/Bill IngallsThis partnership will pave the way for another key initiative: developing a next-generation lunar rover for crew and uncrewed exploration.
This enclosed rover might serve as a mobile human habitat, protecting future explorers from the harsh conditions of the lunar environment. The rover will be capable of securely housing at least two astronauts for up to 30 days. Japan will lead the design and development of this pressurized rover, and NASA will handle the launch and the subsequent landing on the lunar surface.
