Metro Police responded to public scrutiny Tuesday surrounding their investigation into the disappearance of Missouri college student Riley Strain.
During a news conference held by the family of Strain, detectives shed light on why the department is not calling this a criminal case.
"People have asked about TBI, it’s the same resources they have. so there’s not been a need for us to get additional assistance from these agencies," said Sgt. Nielsen. Detectives added they've been flooded with tips in light of the massive amount of attention Strain's case has drawn. That includes a Facebook page with 50,000 followers. It's a lot of potential leads to solving the case. It's also a lot of tips and theories to sort through.
